It was hard for me to fall asleep last night....

and not because one of my good buddies was in Richmond amongst a sea of pissed off rednecks following Junior's wreck. I'm sure he'll be fine - he was one of them. The reason it was hard for me to sleep is because I had not blogged on Saturday. I know that many of you (talking to you here Jeff) depend on this blog for daily sports updates, solid gambling advice, and sure, maybe the occasional chuckle. So not only am I going to blog today, I'm going to feature the kid himself - Jorgie. You asked for it and you got it. ( Well everyone but Chris asked for it. Sorry, Chris. Oh, I'm also going to talk a lot more about car racing in today's blog. You might want to just skip this one, bro. )

I happened to see Jorgen as he was leaving work yesterday. We even watched the Kentucky Derby together which was obviously very special for me. After the race, Jorgen quickly gathered his stuff (the red man-purse) and made a mad dash for the exit to ensure that he'd be home in time to watch the Cup Race with Amanda. Knowing that I had 8 hours of work ahead of me, (in other words those punks Austin and Sean telling me what to do) I couldn't help but be jealous of Jorgen going home to watch cars turn left with Amanda. I even blurted out that I'd glady pay $500, or 1/200th of a betting unit, to watch the race with her. Jorgen quickly retorted that he'd let me watch the race with his future wife for just $100! And so a new contest was born:

The blog is now accepting bids to watch next Saturday's Dodge Challenger 500 on Jorgen's couch with young Amanda. Before you submit your bids, please take the time to consider all you'll be getting. Next week's race is a night race at legendary Darlington Raceway - the "Lady in Black," or "Black Lady," as she is also called. You will be watching all your favorite drivers flying around the track that is "Too Tough To Tame," and meanwhile you'll be sitting next to a young lady who is surprisingly easy to tame, especially after a few adult beverages. Jorgen will not be there and I can tell you all from personal experience that when he leaves the house, anything goes.

The first $100 we receive will go to Jorgen but all additional proceeds will go to me so I can upgrade the blog. Unless I find a really good bet that week in which case I will just use the money on that. The bidding starts at $101. Please submit any bids by commenting at the end of today's blog.

You also probably noticed that I have added a poll to the blog. Please take the time to vote for Jorgen and Amanda's first born son on the right side of the page. You have 1 week before the poll closes but each person can only vote once so choose carefully. You are helping to determine the fate of a child who is already going to be born into a not-so-great situation to begin with.

I'm very excited today because I have feeling that Jeff's golf performance this week might finally lead to him being kicked out of his current "group" and make him a free agent. This could end up being the gambling equivalent of Reggie White's free agency period when teams wined and dined him and there was constant speculation of where he would end up. White was pretty much the first superstar to file for free agency in the NFL and it's interesting to note that he was leaving Ed's team - the Philadelphia Eagles. Now Jeff (the first superstar gambler to ever be available during his prime) may be leaving Ed's group for greener pastures - The Sherman Group. White ended up winning a Super Bowl and an NFL Defensive Player of the Year award in Green Bay.... My fingers are crossed.

Until we are able to sign Jeff, Scottie and I are still stuck being the Hoffman-Murray Connection. Our group would've been a lot better off if Kyle Busch had wrecked a few more drivers and allowed Carl Edwards to steal the victory last night but we'll be fine - The Hoff's sharpness will get it all back. It's all dogs on Hoffman's card today -

Looks sharp as usual, cuz. I wasn't planning on making any picks of my own today. I was just going to look at Andy Ross's blog and play the other sides. I usually make more money that way anyways.... but unfortunately he didn't blog today (his bookie probably broke his hands or something) so I guess I'll just come up with a few plays myself:

Tigers

Diamondbacks

Dodgers

Stars

The Rapist's team

Nothing crazy here. 100 dimes each. I couldn't get my hands on any Covers.com stat sheets so I'm basically going in blind.

Sunday's Trivia Question - Which UCLA freshman was named the Most Outstanding Player of the 1995 Final Four? Bonus point - Which NBA team drafed him?

** Friday's answer - The New Orleans Saints selected running back George Rogers ahead of Lawrence Taylor in 1981.

That is a lot of blogging. Enjoy yourselves but more importantly....

Enjoy the game.
