What a great first weekend it was

.... in the NFL. My fantasy teams underperformed and were dealt a blow by an injury to a certain QB. The coin toss in the Bears-Colts game cost me roughly a week's pay. The Cowboys, Eagles, and Giants all won. The Redskins lost. About the only thing that went my way on the gridiron this weekend was the Bills dismantling of the Seahawks. While everyone raves about the Jets and their new QB, Buffalo could be a team to watch in the AFC now that Brady is out. The Bills are solid in all three phases of the game and Trent Edwards looked more than capable on Sunday.

Yesterday: 1-0, +$200

Year to Date: 6-5, +$218

The Bills crushed the Seahawks yesterday. That was actually a good pick by me. First time for everything.

(480) Green Bay Packers -2.5 (-101) vs. Minnesota Vikings

When this line originally came out, I loved the Vikings so much I know that the Packers have to be the right side. We all know Green Bay is replacing their QB but last year's Packers were a lot more than an aging gunslinger behind center. The defense is full of good young players and the offense should be fine without Favre. Vikings LT Bryant McKinnie is suspended for tonight's game which could be a big blow to the Minnesota offense. Green Bay has beat Minnesota four times in a row, including a 34-0 win last season at Lambeau.

* I already made a bet for next weekend. Rams +8 at home against the Giants. Then I woke up and saw the line was at 9 all over town. The way people bet (Good teams must always cover) that line will probably go to 10. Glad I grabbed the 8 last night.

* Houston got waxed yesterday in Pittsburgh. Not a good start for my sleeper team. Although, yesterday was a great start for my Steelers to win the AFC North at +150 wager. Pittsburgh looked great; Cleveland looked terrible.

* Another ticket I have that suddenly looks a lot better: Patriots Under 12.5 wins. That one may be good without Tom Brady at the helm. I hear that Bennett kid has them under 13.5. Must be nice being a sharp.

* Speaking of Bennett, he ripped Saturday's blog saying that it read like something written by Ed. When I asked him to cite one example, he mentioned my "Lajerius" reference. When multiple people backed me up, saying that "Lajerius" is actually a Mike O. original and not an Ed joke, Chris gave nothing else to back up his initial claim. It's a good thing Chris decided to go into the sports gambling industry instead of opting to become a lawyer.

* Question for you (racist) Philadelphia sports fans: If my man Ryan Howard hangs on to lead the Major Leagues in home runs for the second time in three years, will you guys finally get off his back? There's a lot of teams that would love to have a slugger like that in the middle of their order.

* Jorgie told me not to bother coming to work on Sunday because he was going to light it on fire before he left.

I can't wait to get back over there tonight for more "Fun."

The next time Hoffman complains to me about his job, there is a 50/50 chance I will murder him with my bare hands.

Enjoy the double-header.
